The Library of the Institute of Carbon Science and Technology is a service created to meet the informational and documentary needs of the researchers. It is part of the CSIC Library Network, so it is also a service open to the general scientific community.

The Collection

It has a specialized bibliographic collection of more than 6,500 volumes and 600 titles of national and international scientific journals, whose subject matter revolves around coal, its conversion processes, materials, energy, environment and instrumental techniques.

The Users

There are different types of users:

• Internal or registered users: personnel professionally linked to the Institute of Carbon Science and Technology, and by extension, all personnel linked to the CSIC.
• External or invited users: professors, researchers, PhD, graduates, second cycle university students, and in general, any user not included in the previous mentioned categories who has the approval of the head of the library.

Services

This Library offers a wide variety of services whose objective is to allow access to documents and information.

Some of the documentary services are available to all categories of users (In-room consultation, Reprography, Information and reference or the use of certain Information Resources), while others are only accessible to registered users (Personal loan, Obtaining documents or PAPI remote access). The Interlibrary Loan service attends to requests from other Libraries and Documentation Centres.
