RESEARCH LINES
Development of more efficient processes for capturing CO2 with CaO, especially those applicable to industries such as cement, lime and steel mills or to power generation backup plants. Development of thermochemical energy storage processes through reversible gas-solid reactions at high temperature. More efficient hydrogen production processes with inherent CO2 capture by sorption enhanced reactions with CaO combined with chemical looping reactions with oxygen carriers in packed beds. Direct capture of CO2 from the air through passive carbonation.
