Alejandro Concheso achieved the grade in Mining Engineering and PhD in Materials Science from University of Oviedo in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
His work has been focused on the development of carbon materials, mainly for energy storage (lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors), but also for environmental applications (adsorption of pollutants).
He spent a total of six years the industry, first at Grupo Antolin working in production and application of carbon nanofibers, and then at Xerolutions in the production of activated carbon based in carbon xerogels for energy applications.
Currently, he is working at INCAR-CSIC on the surface modification of carbon felts and the development of new electrodes for redox flow batteries.
