Belén Lobato graduated from University of Oviedo (Spain) where received her M. Sc in Chemistry, Master's Degree in Materials Science and Technology and PhD in Energy Engineering in 2005, 2011 and 2017, respectively. Her research is focused on the development of carbon materials for their application in energy storage devices, mainly supercapacitors and dual-ion batteries, from renewable sources, as well as the capture of contaminants and the recycling of end-of-life materials whose origin involves fossil fuels. She got a third cycle Erasmus for researching at Institute of Organic Chemistry from Clausthal University of Technology (Germany) and a Leonardo fellowship at OCAS (Zelzate, Belgium). During her career, she also has made a long-stay in Graphene Batteries (Norway) and a short-stay in CEMHTI (France).
